A record number of injured … and the beds are almost full

Another no less serious indicator is the growing number of injuries among health sector workers, since 23 injuries were recorded yesterday, 3 more than the day before yesterday and 7 cases than two days ago.

Although the Ministry of Public Health can no longer find anything it can do with people other than call, for the last time, to comply with preventive measures, it is also trying to “accelerate the increase in the number of intensive care beds in several government hospitals “. In this context, the Minister of Public Health, Hamad Hassan, announced the implementation phases of this step, which he divided into three phases. The first phase aims to increase the number of beds in seven government hospitals in Beirut, Mount Lebanon and the North, where the number of wounded increases dramatically, and that is over an extended period. Between one week and ten days, in conjunction with the continuation of field inspection campaigns. As for the second phase, it includes increasing the number of beds in the south and west of Bekaa in a period of no more than three weeks, while the third phase is aimed at the rest of public hospitals, as long as it does not delay more than 6 weeks.
The three stages are also supposed to include “the distribution of artificial respirators in the custody of the ministry, in addition to the distribution of donations received by the Lebanese army.”
In addition, the head of the Medical Union, Sharaf Abu Sharaf, asked those interested to work on equipping hospitals, especially Dahr Al-Basheq Hospital, to receive cases of prisoners who require hospitalization, “so that they do not let’s get to a dead end. ” Abu Sharaf assured that “if we do not accelerate the measures”,
“The necessary health, we are facing an endless health disaster.”
