The German Football Association (DFL) announced today (May 4, 2020) that the first round of tests to detect infection with the Corona virus in first and second division clubs in the Bundesliga, which wished to resume competitions in May , revealed 10 positive cases.
The association explained that out of 1,724 examinations performed in the 36 clubs (18 in each grade), 10 were positive, without revealing any details about the location of the cases and even the identity of the injured people. The association stated that the ten were immediately isolated, and will be subjected to quarantine procedures in accordance with the regulations of the local health authorities.
The exams, which are held for the second time this week, are part of the association’s concept to ensure that the Bundesliga can resume with games without an audience. The association stated that it also agreed with the Ministry of Labor that all clubs establish their training camps according to the rules of sanitary isolation before competition resumes.
According to the laws in force in Germany, anyone who has been in contact with a positive situation must comply with a fourteen-day isolation period.
Bundesliga clubs breathed a sigh of relief today, Monday, after the Colonia club (Colonia) announced that there were no new infections with the new Corunna virus. Last Friday, the club announced that three of its members, who were later revealed to be players and physical therapists, would be subject to medical quarantine after positive samples of the Corona virus were confirmed.
The DFL has introduced new standards for the concept of personal safety and hygiene, while waiting for the return of the activity again without public assistance this month, and this includes a regular examination, and only allows players whose samples were negative, twice, train or play.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the 16 German prime ministers of state will meet next Wednesday by video, again to discuss the reduction of restrictions on public closings in the country and the possibility of resuming league competition again (Bundesliga ), on the meeting agenda.
