Thomas Jefferson Bird found dead

Last weekend, African-American actor Thomas Jefferson Bird was found shot to death in Atlanta, and his colleagues and friends mourned him, including director Spike Lee, who used him in several of his films.

Actor Wendell Pearce, who appeared with him on Get on the Bus, wrote that “Bird was brave, cute, calm, creative, and expressive.”
For her part, the Oscar-winning actress, Viola Davis, confirmed in a tweet that “I really loved working with you, Bird. How much you were an excellent actor. I’m sorry your life ended like this.
