The media and social networks transmit statements and positions of mayors, municipal officials and citizens of the localities covered by the closure decision due to the high number of wounded by corona that are registered in them, including those who consider that the minister’s decision is unfair or inappropriate, and some of them want to reconsider the decision.
The media office of Minister Fahmy is interested in clarifying that the decision made by the Minister of the Interior and Municipalities was based on the recommendation issued by the Ministerial Committee in charge of following up on the file of the Corona epidemic, which was formed from the decision of the Council of Ministers, which gave the ministry the list of these towns with a high level of risk.
Consequently, the Ministry announced the measures that will be taken in the aforementioned towns and villages, as mentioned in the recommendation of the Ministerial Committee, noting that the Ministry is authorized to implement the practical part related to the guarantee of citizen security, and It is not concerned with other precedents that some would work to impose on them, and the Interior Ministry will continue to do so. It is your duty to implement current laws in a way that ensures the safety of citizens in the face of this rampant epidemic in Lebanon and around the world.
