On the 38th anniversary of the 1982 Sabra and Chatila massacre, Kamel Muhanna, president of Amel International, announced the launch of a permanent exhibition, a humanitarian advocacy and documentation center, and a vocational empowerment section for families and survivors of the Israeli massacre, inside the Amel Foundation Center for Human Skills Development in Haret Hreik. The project aims to mobilize local and international awareness and support for the Palestinian cause, in cooperation with the “Children’s House of Resilience Foundation” and the Committee “So that we don’t forget Sabra and Shatila.” The announcement came during a speech given by Muhanna at the Bir Hassan massacre martyrs’ memorial, during the commemoration of the anniversary that occurred during the phase of the shameful normalization agreements that some Arab countries are rushing to.

In his speech, Muhanna addressed the committee “So We Don’t Forget Sabra and Chatila”, on whose behalf he spoke this year after being selected last March to receive the organization’s award in honor of his “continuing struggles for justice for the victims of the massacre of the Palestinian people, “and indicated that the new initiative” will collect the remaining traces of martyrs and victims among the families. The objective goes beyond the task of documenting, and is also represented in building the capacity of the descendants of the martyrs and the cause of the youth and women of our people in the camps suffering from difficult conditions. She noted: “There is a plan to expand this initiative, by establishing various centers to relive the Sabra and Shatila massacre among our friends abroad … to mobilize international solidarity with Palestine, just causes and reestablish legitimate rights.” (To contribute to the initiative: 01/859076 or 70/751290 or 01/317293 –
