Today (Sunday), Lebanese security forces announced the murder of members of a terrorist group that carried out and planned the Kaftoun crime in the north of the country.
The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces said, in a press release today, reported by the National Information Agency, that “as part of the follow-up by the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces to the perpetrators of the Kaftun crime , this division was able to determine the identity of the four perpetrators, who turned out to be part of a cell that works for the organization (ISIS) in Lebanon. “
He added that the Information Division was able to identify the more than 15 members of the terrorist group, who were working under the command of a Syrian, and arrested three of the group’s members.
According to the statement, the division arrived yesterday to locate the members of the terrorist group in the Wadi Khaled area in a secluded house, for which a security operation was carried out to surround the house by the division’s attack force, and The group members fired light and medium weapons in the direction of the force, and the response was completed. On them, which caused the death of all the terrorists, and the operation continues.
On August 22, the city of Kaftoun in Koura (North Lebanon) witnessed a shooting in an unknown car as it passed through the city, killing 3 people from the city. They are the son of the mayor and two of the municipal police.
Faced with this, the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces raided a Syrian room in the Amiriya area of ​​Akkar, in the north of the country, and blew themselves up.
Also, according to a previous statement, he arrested several people as a result of raids on several camps for displaced people in Akkar, in northern Lebanon.
