After Adeeb’s “apology” … an “appeal” from Diab to Macron

Acting Prime Minister Hassan Diab called on French President Emmanuel Macron to “continue to support Lebanon at this stage and to continue his efforts and initiative to help Lebanon.”
In a statement he issued commenting on Prime Minister-designate Mustafa Adeeb’s apology for continuing his mission, Diab said: “ We were well received by French President Emmanuel Macron’s initiative to help Lebanon meet the challenges it faces at various levels. political, social, economic and financial, and we wish President-designate Mustafa Adeeb to succeed. Form a government quickly, taking advantage of the French momentum and the momentum of internal consensus to appoint the designated president.

He added: “Unfortunately, however, the apology came today to set things back and increase the difficulties for Lebanon and the Lebanese. I ask the French President to continue to support Lebanon at this difficult stage and to continue his efforts and initiative to help Lebanon “.
Diab warned that “the conditions that Lebanon is going through are exceptional, and require exceptional efforts, and that political forces stop the practices and interactions that threaten what remains of the nation’s strength.”
He concluded: “The apology of the president-designate requires the rapid execution of binding parliamentary consultations to assign a person to form a government capable of dealing with the difficult stage that Lebanon is going through.”
He concluded his statement by saying: “May God protect Lebanon.”
