They noted that this mandate also came “in line with the generous initiative of the friendly French state represented by President Emmanuel Macron, who visited Lebanon twice in a row in a few weeks: the first after the dangerous and suspicious earthquake with bombs in the port of Beirut, and the second to urge Lebanese officials to adopt and launch their rescue initiative. ” under excuse “.
And they continued: “The participants in the consultations carried out by President Macron, as well as in the consultations that took place afterwards, showed their full willingness to cooperate and facilitate to achieve that rescue effort in a period of two weeks. Consequently, the President-designate’s effort to accelerate the formation of a miniature rescue government without belonging to political parties has lost AND on the basis of respect for the principle of rotation in all portfolios, in order to provide Lebanon with a national opportunity to commit to implement the constitution and achieve reform and advancement of Lebanon and its economy. This effort collided with various kinds of internal and external obstructions.
And they saw: “It is regrettable to avoid this opportunity that was given to Lebanon and then abort all these efforts, especially since it has become clear that the parties that control power are still in a state of severe denial and refusal to realize the magnitude. of the terrible dangers that Lebanon has become. ” Consequently, he refrained from facilitating a mission and the efforts of the president-designate, leading to failure. “
And the statement continued: “The former heads of government who proposed to appoint Dr. Mustafa Adeeb, due to their national competence and ethics, and after most parliamentary blocs adopted his mandate, and after Dr. Adeeb he adhered to those rules to form the government, we confirm that we support him in his apology for continuing. In his mission he was overthrown. “
He added: “The former heads of government, akin to national unity, did not hesitate to contribute to finding a way out of this dangerous crisis to which the policy of control and intractability led and, therefore, if some did not, this is their responsibility. And former prime ministers still hope that everyone will listen to the needs, and the national needs, and to realize the risks of breakdown and collapse without a capable, effective, and non-partisan government.
