Media sources revealed the details of the recent meeting that brought together Lebanese Prime Minister-designate “Mustafa Adeeb” and political assistants to the Speaker of Parliament, Representative “Ali Hassan Khalil” and Hezbollah Secretary General “Hussein al -Khalil ”, with the aim of finding a way out of the crisis of formation of the new government.

The sources clarified that “the last meeting did not resolve the half-hour meeting between the designated prime minister and the two Khalileans, the knot of the Ministry of Finance.” The former heads of government insist that the appointed president appoint the minister, while the Shiite duo also insist on appointing the finance minister and other ministers.

She added: “Al-Khalilan gave Adeeb a list of ten names to the Minister of Finance, from which he could choose, but Adeeb did not interact with the proposal and did not show a clear position, and listened more than he spoke the whole time, and did not get the names asking the Khalilin to slow down.

“Adeeb” promised that he would study the demand of the two Khalileans and complete the communication and consultations. He also hoped that the two Khalileans would reduce the severity of the media statements about the dispute over the financial knot so that the crisis does not complicate the crisis, according to the sources.

The information stated that “Adeeb reserved Khalil’s words and did not take the list of names and asked the Khalileans to wait, saying:” Wait. “He emphasized that what has been proven is to deliver the portfolio of the Ministry of Finance to the Shiite community, in the absence of a clear vision on the form and size of the government except that the government is made up of 14 ministers and the structure is still unknown.

Notably, former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri announced a few days ago that he agreed to appoint an independent Shiite minister to lead the finance portfolio, in order to facilitate the authorship mission. The French Foreign Ministry welcomed Hariri’s announcement, considering it represents an opening that should be fully appreciated by all to create Urgent Government Appropriations.
