German clubs fear releasing their international players

German clubs are reluctant to allow their international players to join the ranks of their national teams and travel to a “danger zone” regarding the “Covid-19” virus to compete in European League of Nations football, as confirmed by the magazine “Kicker”. The magazine noted that clubs have particular reservations about the match scheduled for October 10 between Germany and its host Ukraine, which is in a “dangerous zone” on the list of countries most affected by the emerging Corona virus.

“We are working to find solutions, but we reserve the right not to make players available to their teams, as long as there is no rule that allows them to play immediately after their return,” warned Borussia Dortmund coach Sebastian Kehl. The well-known magazine added that this is also “what the managers of Bayern Munich and Leipzig think”, since the majority of the players of these three clubs are German internationals, but also from many other countries.
Currently, the rule in Germany stipulates that people returning from risk areas will be quarantined pending the result of the Coronavirus test.
