The United States Department of State announced today, Thursday, that the United States has imposed economic sanctions on various Iranian personalities and entities, accusing them of serious human rights violations.

“The sanctions included a judge, who said he was involved in the case of an Iranian fighter who was sentenced to death,” the ministry said in its statement.

For his part, the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, pointed out that “the United States has imposed sanctions on Judge Syed Mahmoud Sadati, Judge Muhammad Sultani, First Branch of the Shiraz Revolutionary Court, and the Adel Abad, Urmia and Wakil Abad prisons. “.

The execution of the 27-year-old Iranian fighter Nawid Afkari, following his conviction for the premeditated murder of a security member during popular protests in the summer of 2018, sparked a wave of global outrage.

Officials, political organizations, the United States, the European Union and international sports organizations initially requested the annulment of the sentence, which was described as “inhumane”, since confessions were extracted from my thinking, according to themselves.

Pompeo last month sought to reimpose all UN sanctions on Iran by filing a complaint with the UN Security Council, accusing Tehran of violating the 2015 nuclear deal.

Thirteen of the 15 member states of the UN Security Council described the US move as “invalid” since Washington withdrew from the nuclear deal two years ago.
