The US official added that US President Donald Trump will issue an order authorizing the imposition of sanctions on parties that traffic in conventional weapons with Iran.
Earlier today, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the UN sanctions against Iran had come into effect again, despite the organization’s rejection of this matter, threatening countries that would not implement the sanctions with “consequences”.
Pompeo noted that “almost all of the UN sanctions have been applied against Iran, and include a permanent extension of the arms embargo.”
