The player’s attorney in the case, Hassan Bazzi, confirmed to Al-Akhbar that the investigations are continuing, but declined to give further details to preserve the confidentiality of the investigation. “I agreed with Muhammad’s family that the subject of the investigation be kept away from the media so that we can get to the truth, especially since the investigation is very serious,” says attorney Bazzi.

The news that circulated yesterday is that the bullet extracted after the death of the player yesterday is a pistol bullet and not a rifle bullet. News mixes up the papers in the case and takes it elsewhere, as a pistol bullet cannot be reckless when shooting at a funeral in Ain al-Rummana.
Al-Akhbar obtained information confirming that the bullet was not a pistol bullet, but a 7.62mm Kalashnikov rifle bullet, which was extracted yesterday from the head of the late Atwi, in the presence of his lawyer Bazzi, who so confirmed during his interview with Al-Akhbar.
The information indicates that investigations are ongoing, and there are detainees in the case for the crime of shooting during the funeral and possession of weapons without a license, and there is an attempt to link the crime to the incident of the Atwi player. The dossier ranges from three security and judicial bodies: Tariq’s new platoon in the Internal Security Forces, the Beirut Judicial Detachment and the Information Division. The file is currently in the custody of the Information Division, which will continue the investigation.

The only consolation for the player’s family, who is close to him, that is, his family, and those who are far away, that is, the Duqm family, is the knowledge of the truth and that the perpetrator receives his punishment.
