Indian Olympic Committee Chairman Narinder Patra announced that his country will redouble its efforts to win the organization of the 2032 Olympics and other international events, when the crisis of the #Krona virus epidemic eases.

Patra said in an interview with “Agence France Presse” that his country has some lessons to learn, but will not be deterred.

He added: “We are serious, and we will definitely compete to organize the Youth Olympic Games in 2026 and the Olympic Games in 2032.”

India had shown interest in the International Olympic Committee in organizing an event in 2026, but faces competition from Thailand, Russia and Colombia.

Queensland is also promoted in Australia and Shanghai, China, and there is the possibility of a joint filing between the two Koreas, Seoul and Pyongyang, for the 2032 Olympics.

The spread of the “Covid-19” epidemic around the world stopped all discussions.

Patra, who is also president of the International Hockey Federation, noted that preparation of the file began in 2032, but work is now frozen, indicating that the field is open until 2025 to make a final decision.

He continued: “Now, there is a team that visits the various sites and then continues the dialogue with them and then presents a report. It is an ongoing process and I think it will not begin until next December.”

“This is not the time to talk to businessmen or the government about promoting the Olympics. Now the priority is how to solve this problem that has arisen in the world,” said the most influential sports official in India, referring to the Covid virus. -19.

In 2010, India hosted the Commonwealth Games in the capital, New Delhi, and was plagued by many problems, including delays in construction work and poor infrastructure, and allegations of financial mismanagement.

The International Boxing Federation finally withdrew from India the organization of the 2021 World Championship, accusing the organizers of not paying the accommodation fees on time.

Patra emphasized that he knew nothing about the boxing problem, but insisted that the 2010 Commonwealth Games made India think on a larger scale, and its increasing economic influence meant that it had resources.

He said: “I can say that India can organize all the important events, be it Olympics or any other game.” But he added that New Delhi did not make sufficient use of the 2010 Commonwealth Games by encouraging more young athletes.

He continued: “The Delhi course did not achieve the desired heritage values. The legacy of producing and developing more athletes never happened here and that is why the tournaments moved from Delhi.”

He added: “The fact that such a large event has been held here has not been properly used.”

Cricket is the most popular sport in India with a population of 1.3 billion people, however its athletes returned from the last Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016 with just two medals.

The Corona virus caused the Tokyo Olympics to be postponed from the summer of 2020 by a full year to 2021.

And Patra predicted that her country’s athletes will achieve more than 10 medals at the next Olympics.

He said: “So far, about 80 Indian athletes have qualified for the Olympics. They are supervised by senior managers and coaches.”

He added: “Therefore, I keep my previous prediction on the number of medals represented by scoring more than 10, and I don’t think this situation changes anything.”

Patra confirmed that she had the men’s hockey team, as India had achieved its record of participation by winning eight Olympic gold medals, but had failed to reach the gold box since the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.

He concluded: “At these Olympics I am definitely looking forward to the men’s team getting a medal.”
