Today, Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched a new attack on his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, threatening him with “more problems with him personally.”

The Turkish agency “Anatolia” quoted Erdogan as saying, addressing Macron: “You have no historical information and you are ignorant of the history of France, so keep busy with Turkey and its people.”

He continued: “Mr. Macron, you will have more problems with me personally.”

Erdogan also issued a stern warning to Greece, in the context of the growing differences between Ankara and Athens in the eastern Mediterranean, warning the authorities of this country of the consequences of their “incorrect practices”.

The Turkish president turned to the Greeks and said: “You are doing the wrong things, do not use these roads or you will face severe isolation.”

The differences between Turkey and its neighbors Greece and Cyprus have been intensified in recent months by hydrocarbon resources and maritime influence in the eastern Mediterranean, and France has expressed its full support for Athens and Nicosia on this matter.

And seven member states of the European Union bordering the Mediterranean announced in a joint statement on Thursday their willingness to support the imposition of sanctions on Turkey by the end of this September, if Ankara does not enter into a dialogue with Greece.
