Commenting on the US decision to impose sanctions on the two former ministers, Hajj Ali Hassan Khalil and Youssef Fenianos, Hezbollah issued the following statement:
First, on the moral side, we see that this unjust decision is a badge of honor for the two dear friends and for all those whom the US administration accuses of resisting or supporting the resistance.
Second, the American administration is a terrorist authority that wreaks havoc and devastation around the world and is the main sponsor of Zionist and penitential terrorism in our region. It has no right in the first place to classify honorable people and resistance fighters as terrorism, and anything that comes from this administration is condemned and rejected.
Third, this US sanctions policy will not be able to achieve its objectives in Lebanon and will not lead to subjugating the Lebanese and forcing them to lose their sovereign national rights. Rather, it will increase their adherence to their free decision, their national dignity and their full sovereignty, and that the positions issued by the Presidency in the Amal movement and in The head of the Marada movement confirm this fact.
In Hizbullah we affirm our solidarity with the two dear brothers, we support them and we salute their firm, firm and sacrificial stance to defend Lebanon, its freedom and dignity.
