Radwan Mortada –

The military investigative judge Najat Abu Shakra issued an indictment against the defendant Kinda Al-Khatib, accusing her of communicating with agents of the Zionist enemy, providing security information about Lebanon for the benefit of foreign countries, and referring her to the military court for trial. In the details of the decision that was issued, Kinda met with a Kuwaiti intelligence officer in the Dead Sea region and provided him with security information, and it was discovered that this officer is named Yasser Al-Kandari, who is close to the ruling family in Kuwait, and was previously found in Lebanon before the Abra battles, where he met Sheikh Ahmed. Captive.

The decision adds that the defendant, in her conversations on social media, repeatedly expressed her desire to open the borders between Lebanon and Israel and eliminate Hezbollah, while communicating with agents of the Zionist entity.

According to the decision, Al-Khatib gave an interview to an Israeli television (audio without picture) and assisted the Israeli journalist Roy Qais in conducting an interview with a Lebanese in the United States of America. The resolution stated that it provided advice to the Zionist enemy on how to improve the image of “Israel” among the Lebanese. On the basis of the investigations and the contradiction of his testimony with that of his brother, the judge charged Al-Khatib with his decision to enter enemy territory.

Al-Khatib confirmed in the investigation that the judge conducted with her that she continued to communicate with the Israeli journalist Roy Qais after informing the head of the Public Relations Division of the Internal Security Forces, Colonel Joseph Muslim, of the existence of this communication. He said the reason is that he intended to establish an Israeli spy ring in Lebanon, but no one had instructed him to do so. Nor did he inform the colonel of the continuation of communication. The judge stated that “when examining a computer belonging to Canada, it was found that it had a file entitled:

“The Security Chamber meeting between the European Union and the US Embassy in Lebanon”, and focused on a meeting that took place at the US embassy, which was attended by Charbel Al-Hajj and another Lebanese named Michael McCary (i.e. Michel Antoine Al-Makary, whom Kinda had also offered to interview Israeli journalist Roy Qais).

In it, the Lebanese economic situation was discussed and an attempt was made to chart a path for the political situation in it, focusing on the role of Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement. When asked by the judge how he obtained the document despite its confidentiality, he said that being a political activist made things easier for him and that he did not want to mention the party that allowed him to obtain it.

The indictment also claims that “Al-Khatib provided security information about Lebanon to a foreign country, including the European Union (through its work with a security room under the guise of international surveillance) and Kuwait (through Yasser Al-Kandari), so the description of a spy applies to him. “

Judge Abu Shakra requested the application of the articles of impeachment against Al-Khatib for the crimes of communicating with enemy agents and violating the boycott of Israeli law.

Al-Khatib was arrested last June on charges of communicating with Israeli agents, secretly visiting Palestine through Jordan in 2019 and providing security information to Israelis. According to the decision of judge Abu Shakra, Al-Khatib will be tried before the Permanent Military Court.
