The director of the Cultural Resource, Elena Nassif, and the director of “AFAC”, Rima Al-Masmar, emphasized that the main driver of this initiative lies in the “priority of preserving a certain cohesion for an entire sector, in the absence of any role or movement for the public sector, so that its members can continue to play their role in Criticism, documentation, questioning, questioning of postulates, clarifying marginal narratives and raising urgent issues with approaches that reconfigure our relationships with the present, the past, the politics and the public sphere.
The initiative focuses on supporting individual artists, technologists and cultural and artistic workers who have been directly affected – physical and psychological injuries, destruction of their homes, loss of their equipment and workplaces – through a grant of between two thousand and four One thousand dollars.
The applicant must reside in Lebanon and possess Lebanese nationality or any other Arab nationality, provided that the deadline ends on September 9 at 5:00 PM Beirut time.
With respect to the selection process, limited financial resources required the provision of support based on specific priorities, which are evaluated by an independent committee of cultural actors. The priorities are divided into two parts. First, the priority is in terms of physical damage, then to the home (total or partial demolition of the house), then in damage to equipment and private workplaces, or there may be other damage (to be specified in the application). And second, priority in terms of nature of work and / or opportunities. (To apply for the scholarship: click here)
