The new advance came after clashes in which Sana’a forces used various types of weapons, while the forces of the outgoing President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, supported by the air forces of the aggressive coalition, continued holding onto their positions in vain. The loss of those sites created confusion in their ranks, resulting in the loss of a large number of weapons stores in two military brigades, one of which is affiliated with the third military region, and the second is the sixth military region, while disputes escalated between the chief of staff of the Hadi forces, Major General Saghir bin Aziz, affiliated with the United Arab Emirates, and a defense minister. In light of the fall of more sites and camps affiliated with him in Marib, the Defense Ministry in Hadi’s government, in recent days, initiated military changes on various fronts there, including the Mahli front and al-Abdiyya in the southwest of the governorate, in which several military leaders were removed and appointed. A new direction for this, following the advance of the army and the committees on those fronts, reaching areas adjacent to the Harib area in the center of Marib. In the east of the governorate, Sana’a forces made further progress last Thursday by taking control of large areas north of the oil-rich Safer district. According to military sources, the army and the committees were able to penetrate the Al-Rayyan area, after taking control of the Hubail area west of Abraq Al-Khalila, to successfully carry out a diversion operation against the positions. of Hadi’s forces on the Al-Alaman front, north of the Safer district, and also advanced west towards the camp of “coalition” forces in Al-Ruwaik. .
