The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, met with Prime Minister Saad Hariri at the Baabda Palace in the framework of parliamentary consultations to appoint a new Prime Minister.
After the meeting, Prime Minister Hariri announced the appointment of “Ambassador Mustafa Adeeb to form the new government.”
Hariri emphasized that “our objective must be to rebuild Beirut, achieve reforms and agree with the IMF to win the support of the international community and control the collapse.”
He noted that “to achieve these objectives, the government must be made up of people recognized for their competence, integrity and competence, and they must be trained quickly with the drafting of the ministerial declaration quickly.”
He pointed out that “all the parliamentary blocs announced their cooperation with the government to achieve the desired goal,” explaining that “all the parliamentary blocs have known their objection, and I saw that today the country needs solutions and advances and not maneuvers.”
He said: “Reforms must be undertaken to restore foreign confidence, and we all know the conditions that led the country to this situation.”
