The Elysee Palace included the meeting of the Lebanese artist Fairouz at the top of the agenda of French President Emmanuel Macron during his second visit to Beirut in less than a month, which is scheduled for next Monday.

Macron wrote: “A date with a cup of coffee with Fayrouz in Antelias on Monday night.”

Macron will visit Fairouz upon his arrival Monday night at his home in Rabieh, away from the media lens.

Macron’s visit to Beirut is scheduled to continue until Tuesday, when he will visit neighborhoods affected by the blast and plant a cedar with Lebanese children northeast of Beirut.

Fayrouz has a strong friendship with France which was established in 1975 when she first appeared on French television on the show (Special Matteo) hosted by her friend, French artist Mireille Mathieu, and there was a song (My Love in the Summer) .

The relationship took a deeper shape during the Lebanese war when Fairouz threw a big party at the Paris Olympics in 1979 and sang (Paris, Oh Flower of Freedom).

Fayrouz received the highest French honors, including Commander of Arts and Letters from the late French President Francois Mitterrand in 1988, and the Legion of Knight Honor from the late President Jacques Chirac in 1998.
