Last December, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon convicted Salim Ayyash in absentia for the murder of Rafik Hariri and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Today, the United States offered a $ 10 million reward to anyone who gave information about Lebanese Hezbollah member Salim Ayyash, who was convicted of the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in February 2005.

The US State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program said the reward would be awarded in exchange for “information leading to Ayyash’s location or identification” or “information preventing her from participating in an international terrorist operation against a US person or US property “.

In addition to its conviction for Hariri’s murder, the US State Department stated that Ayyash also planned to harm American soldiers.

Last December, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, established by the United Nations, convicted Ayyash in absentia for Hariri’s murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment, and the court said it would also try Ayyash for 3 attacks on Lebanese politicians.

Ayyash is believed to be in hiding in Lebanon and Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah refused to hand him over.
