Iraq … Security campaigns in Diyala and Salah al-Din in search of ISIS hideouts

On Sunday morning, Iraqi security forces launched search and search campaigns for weapons, ammunition and explosives in some villages in the Jabara sub-district within the Hamrin mountain range in northeast Iraq’s Diyala Governorate. .

This operation was carried out in coordination with the Intelligence Division of the Diyala Operations Command, the detachments of the Military Intelligence Division of the Fifth Division and the supporting forces.

Those units found several lairs containing 7 explosive devices, a mortar shell and 3 fire extinguishers in the form of packages, mattresses and blankets.

According to the Iraqi army statement, this operation is part of the preventive plans to “attack the shelters where ISIS elements are hiding and previous liberation operations have not reached them.

On the other hand, the Salah Governorate Police Directorate announced on Sunday the implementation of campaigns to search for remains of ISIS.

“A joint force of the Swat regiment and the tactical regiment fulfilled its duty to ensure the protection of the group that razed carrots in Al-Budur village in Tikrit district,” the leadership said in a statement.

In a related context, members of the Tikrit Police Department managed to find a 23mm caliber weapon among the remnants of the terrorist organization.
