According to preliminary information, it appears that the defendant, George Pierre Tanios, is an American of Lebanese origin, owner of a sandwich restaurant in Morgan Town in West Virginia, and is 39 years old. The second defendant, Julian Khater, is 32 years old.
Tanios and Khater were charged with nine counts, including conspiring to wound a police officer and assaulting him with a dangerous weapon.
