Jordan’s Health Minister Nazir Obeidat said an oxygen failure occurred at the new Al-Salt Government Hospital on Saturday morning, which was caused by a shortage of oxygen tanks, which has two tanks, which caused the death of 6 people. according to Jordanian news agency Ammon.
He added, in statements to Jordan TV, that there may be an effect of lack of oxygen on these deaths, and it will be verified if there is a cause of hypoxia.
He stressed that the negligent must be held accountable and that, as the Minister of Health, he has the moral responsibility and is willing to assume it, announcing his resignation from the government, offering condolences to the relatives of the deceased and noting that the oxygen arrived at the hospital one hour after the interruption and lost its presence in sufficient numbers, highlighting that now there is no problem in the hospital.

For its part, the Amman Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the death of 6 people in the Al Salt Hospital case.

Jordanian Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh led an immediate investigation into the oxygen failure at the Government Hospital in Salt.
Al-Khasawneh emphasized today that the investigation will be clear, transparent and complete, and all its details will be made public.
It also indicated that it had asked the President of the Judicial Council to carry out an investigation through the Public Ministry, and to issue the results of its investigations independently and clearly to ensure the integrity and integrity of the investigations.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for all those responsible, if proven, to bear the consequences for him in accordance with the provisions of the law.
