Tehran has given Washington until February 21 to lift the sanctions, otherwise it will halt the implementation of the additional protocol, according to a member of the Presidency of the Iranian Parliament, Ahmed Amir Abadi, adding that “if the sanctions are not lifted, especially in the areas of finance and oil, we will expel the inspectors from the International Energy Agency ”.
Iran informed the International Atomic Energy Agency on February 16 that it intended to end the surprise inspections next week, according to the Iranian representative at the agency, Kazem Gharib Abadi.
Abadi announced on February 15 that he had delivered a letter to the International Atomic Energy Agency demanding that the necessary steps be taken to implement Iran’s decision to suspend implementation of the additional protocol, effective February 23.
