The Foreign Minister of the Houthi government, Hisham Sharaf, confirmed that “the attacks of the group” Ansar Allah “against Saudi Arabia and the forces loyal to the Yemeni authority will stop when the coalition led by Riyadh stops its attacks against Yemen.
“I address a message today to the new US administration and to the Saudis: When they stop their attacks in territories controlled by the Government of National Salvation, our attacks against them will stop in a very simple way,” Sharaf said at a press conference.
Sharaf told reporters, commenting on “the recent drone launch in the direction of Saudi Arabia and the battles between the Houthis and government forces in the Marib region, east of Sanaa.” In this context, he claimed that the Houthi “Ansar Allah” militants had interfered in this region against a terrorist presence accompanying the forces of the resigned President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi. He explained that “after the start of the battles in Marib, the Saudi air force intervened to bombard our forces and we were forced to respond.” Sharaf noted that “the Houthis cannot be ignored in any peace process in Yemen.”
“Ansar Allah is a very important party in the peace process,” he said. The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced that it “intercepted two drones launched from Yemen on Sunday and Monday.”
