The Maronite Archdiocese of Beirut sent a circular to the priests and children of the Maronite Diocese of Beirut.
And says:
In accordance with the circular issued on January 5, 2021 on the general closure, in order to preserve the safety of all, and based on the decision issued by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers on 05/2/2021, the judge After opening places of worship in the fourth phase of the Plan for the gradual facilitation of the general closure, the doors of the churches will remain closed until March 22, 2021, as long as masses continue to be broadcast through social networks.
The diocese mentioned a number of decisions, including:
1- Cancel all religious ceremonies during this period, including Ash Monday.
2 – The rituals of the Cross and the fasting sermons are broadcast on Fridays in parishes, through social networks during this period. Those who wish to do so from among the parishes and the faithful can also broadcast the celebration of the same, from the Cathedral of St. George – Beirut, through the Facebook page of the Maronite Archdiocese of Beirut.
3 – Attendance at funerals is restricted only to relatives of the deceased, and condolences are accepted by phone without opening the corridors of the church, during this period.
4- Postponement of weddings and baptisms, during this period.
5 – Suspend the meetings of committees, pastors, fraternities, scouts and various spiritual activities throughout this period.
