Financing the “Smuggling” State Property Survey

Rula Ibrahim wrote in “Al-Akhbar”: Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni wants public administrations and institutions to provide Malia with information on the state’s real estate and non-real estate assets. This request is an article of the budget proposal, and if it is approved within it, it will become binding law. The topic raises questions about my weight’s intent behind “piling up” a similar misplaced procedure to codify it after Prime Minister Hassan Diab prevented administrations from responding to his request earlier because it is in the interest of banks. It is true that it is the duty of the State to know what it owns and see the most appropriate way to invest it in the public interest. But what is “unnatural” is that this is done in the context of proposing the sale of state and popular property, especially since its objective is nothing more than to multiply the wealth of the capital owners of bankers and large depositors … time at the expense of the entire community, not just depositors.

The sale and privatization of state assets has returned with the publication of the preliminary draft budget in 2021. In article 101 of this project prepared by the Minister of Finance in the interim government, Ghazi Wazni, the latter requests “all departments, public institutions , ventures, joint ventures, etc. … to give information to the Ministry of Finance. The real estate and non-real estate assets of the State are owned within a period of six months from the date of entry into force of this law, in addition to the point of use of these properties and their occupants, where appropriate, and other information that it must be specified by decree issued by the Council of Ministers at the proposal of the Minister of Finance.
