The Lebanese army announced Monday that it has arrested 18 Lebanese and Syrians in the city of Arsal, in eastern Lebanon, who work in cells linked to the “ISIS” organization.

The army command said in a statement, “The Directorate of Intelligence aIn the Arsal region, as a result of a series of field operations over the past two weeks, a group of 18 Lebanese and Syrians, who are affiliated with cells linked to the terrorist organization ISIS, rose up.
The statement added that “the detainees confessed their support and affiliation to the aforementioned terrorist organization, following up on their publications and planning to carry out terrorist acts.”
The Army Command pointed out that a quantity of arms and ammunition in the possession of the detainees was seized, who were sent to the competent Judicial Branch.
