The speaker of the Armenian parliament, Ararat Mirzoyan, responded to the accusation of the former ambassador of Yerevan to the Vatican, Michael Minasyan, that Turkey hired him.

Mirzoyan wrote on “Facebook”: “Michael Minassian’s next delusion must receive a proper legal criminal response. Minassian must respond to this false conviction.”

Minassian, son-in-law of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, said: “Mirzoyan began cooperating with Turkey in 2005, when he was participating in scientific research on the recognition processes of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire in the United States.

According to the former ambassador, “The Armenian National Security Service reformed Mirzoyan’s relationship with the Turks and he was forced to agree to cooperate with the National Security Service to become a double agent.”

Minassian posted on “Facebook” the text of the declaration of consent to cooperation, written in Mirzoyan’s handwriting, as he himself put it, proposing “a writing test”, in order to “clarify the circumstances in which it became an agent of the National Security Agency. “

For its part, the Armenian National Security Service commented on the former ambassador’s statements in a statement in which he said: “The president of the legislative body is not a special services agent.”

He added: “The documents distributed are an absolute lie and have nothing to do with reality.”
