Zeina Aker, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of the Lebanese Provisional Government, on Tuesday called on the United Nations to intervene to end repeated Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace.

A statement issued by Minister Aker’s media office said today: “Since the beginning of last week, Lebanon has witnessed an intense flight of Israeli enemy reconnaissance and military aircraft at low altitude, constituting flagrant violations of the Lebanese airspace and generates panic among Lebanese citizens and citizens, especially children. “

The statement added: “Once again, we ask the United Nations to intervene to put an end to these infractions and violations as soon as possible, and ask the Israeli side to commit to implementing Resolution 1701 with all its components.”

He noted that UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenente confirmed that these ongoing violations increase fear among the local population and undermine the efforts of international emergency forces to reduce tensions and create a stable security environment in southern Lebanon.

“We are witnessing these continuous violations of our airspace, our sovereignty and Resolution 1701, at a time when we hear condemnations and strong reactions that hold Lebanon responsible for crossing a shepherd by mistake and a few meters from the Lebanese border,” he added .

On the other hand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the interim government, Charbel Wahba, through the permanent representative of Lebanon to the United Nations, Ambassador Amal Mudallali, presented a complaint to the UN Security Council and the Secretary General of the International Organization, Antonio Guterres, against the Israeli attacks on Lebanese sovereignty through continuous and serious air violations for a few days. .
