The Public Relations Division of the General Directorate of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces issued the following statement:
In the context of the prosecution of drug trafficking and trafficking networks and the arrest of their members, information on the preparations for the transfer of a large quantity of hashish and pills was made available in the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces from Captagon to an African country, through a shipment of automotive oils and lubricants.
Immediately, the specialized units of the division began their investigations and as a result of the follow-up they were able to identify the mastermind of the smuggling operation, named Z. H, born in 1974, of Lebanese nationality.
As a result, a special force in the division was ordered to work to locate his whereabouts and arrest him.
On 1-2-2021, and with a qualitative and lightning operation, this force managed to stop him in the town of Airport Road.
Through coordination with the General Directorate of Customs, the location of the suspicious shipment was located within the port of Beirut, where a joint force of both parties registered it on 1-4-2021, and the amount of 861 kg was seized. Of kif hashish and 812 thousand “Captagon” pills hidden in “barrels” of grease for cars, with the aim of smuggling them out of the country.
When questioning the detainee, he confessed what was attributed to him, and was referred to the competent court, based on his advice, and work is underway to arrest the rest of those involved. “
