Serbian Interior Minister: the country's president was illegally eavesdropped

Sputnik

Serbian Interior Minister Alexander Volyn said that the relevant security forces in his country are investigating the circumstances of the illegal wiretapping of President Alexander Vucic.

The minister added, in a televised interview: “The competent bodies of the Ministry of the Interior, which are investigating the issue of wiretapping the head of state, are scrutinizing the details. President Vucic makes no statements and speaks for no reason, so this was not announced for political gain, but because That is indeed a fact. The president received some information in this regard. The competent authorities informed the president that there were wiretapping operations on his calls ”.

According to the minister, it is still too early to talk about the objectives of this illegal “eavesdropping”, but it was clearly malicious.

“The president told the truth, and we must confirm it and ensure that it is not repeated,” said the Serbian interior minister.

Previously, Volin said that the Serbian president was threatened, because he had “declared war on organized crime”, after the arrest of representatives of Montenegrin mafia groups, whose violent clashes crossed the borders of the region.

In recent years, Serbian security forces have arrested several people, accused of threatening Alexander Vucic and his relatives, on social media.
