Iran today (Sunday) carried out the death sentence against three people of the Baloch ethnic group, after the Iranian judiciary said it had convicted two of them on charges of committing “terrorist” acts and the third for murder and robbery. armed, according to the “Mizan Online” website affiliated with the judicial authority.
The website stated that the three were executed by hanging earlier today, in the southeastern province of Baluchistan, according to the French Press Agency.
It reported that two of them, Hassan Dahwari and Elias Qalandarshi, were arrested in April 2014, after being found in possession of “a large quantity of explosives and weapons.”
Both were convicted of carrying out kidnappings, bombing and killing members of the security forces and civilians, and working with the group “Army of Justice”, which Tehran classifies as a terrorist group, according to “Mizan Online”.
Anti-Iranian Baloch groups reject the accusations and say they act against what they describe as religious and national discrimination practiced by the authorities against the Baloch ethnic group.
The website added that it found documents from the “Army of Justice” with the aforementioned people regarding the manufacture of explosive devices.
The Iranian Human Rights Agency (Hrana) cited sources close to the family of the accused as saying that the arrest of Hassan Hawari and Elias Qalandarshi, in order to pressure their relatives belonging to the Army of Justice who oppose the Iranian regime .
The “Army of Justice” group has previously claimed responsibility for carrying out operations against military centers and members of the security services in recent years, in Baluchistan province, near the border with Pakistan.
In addition, the Mizan website confirmed on Sunday the execution of a third person, Amad Mahmudzeh, who was convicted of armed robbery and the death of several civilians, according to the same source.
The number of executions among the Baluchi ethnic group rose to five, following a wave of executions in Iran following the assassination of deputy Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the Iranian defense minister.
Centers concerned about the human rights situation launched appeals in recent days to stop the executions.
