Israel’s Jerusalem Post cited sources in the administration of outgoing US President Donald Trump that the president and his staff are pushing for a new normalization agreement between Israel and an Islamic or Arab country to be announced, ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States of America.

A US official who prepared the “Ibrahim Accords” told the newspaper: “We are working hard to achieve it.”

The newspaper reported that in recent weeks, Israeli and US sources have hinted that Indonesia, Mauritania and Oman could be the possible options for signing the next deal. Because these three countries had a relationship of some level with “Israel”, although not officially.

Pakistan was also mentioned in the context as a possible candidate.

Saudi Arabia is also a candidate to join the normalization agreements, in light of reports that spoke a month ago of a meeting between the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Notably, the Trump administration this week approved the sale of advanced pumps to Saudi Arabia, in a comprehensive deal estimated at $ 290 million.

There are Israeli estimates that similar agreements may enter into force if Saudi Arabia agrees to normalize its relations with “Israel.”
