The National Media Agency reported that the Single Criminal Judge of Beirut, Nadia Jadayel, handed down a sentence against Abdul Rahman Muhammad Soubra, who was arrested and owns a merchandise warehouse, which exploded in Tarik Al Jadida – Abu Shaker on October 9 as a result of the storage of flammable gasoline, rising gas and smoke emissions. The National Agency stated that in the body of the sentence it was found that the defendant committed a fault, which represented negligence, violation of laws and lack of precaution, which resulted in the explosion that killed 3 people, which makes it applicable to the offense punishable by virtue of article 564 of the Penal Code.

Judge Jadayel indicated that the defendant guaranteed compensation for personal and material damages to all those affected by the explosion, as he stated and promised during the trial session, who are mostly relatives of the defendant, and given the economic and social conditions that They took the accused to store gasoline for fear of interruption, and before the outbreak of the pandemic. Corona in prisons, the defendant was granted mitigating reasons in accordance with article 254 of the penalties, taking into account the seriousness of the fact and all the data in the file, and consequently the sentence was pronounced in accordance with article 196 of the Code Criminal Procedure:

– By condemning the accused with penalties of article 564 and imprisoning him in support of 3 years and then substituting the penalty for a reduction, and in support of article 254, the penalties are sufficient to imprison him for a period of 3 months and a fine of 300 millions of Lebanese pounds, provided the period of his detention is calculated.
