In a very important and dangerous event regarding the bomb attack in the port of Beirut, the United States Congress issued a decision, unanimously by the “Republic” and “Democratic” parties, which included a clear demand for the participation of international researchers in the investigation of this disaster, calling in one of its paragraphs to specify the causes of mismanagement. The most dangerous thing about the text of the resolution is that it focused on linking the bombing with Hezbollah, alluding to its participation in the explosion!

The text of Resolution 682, and after a detailed explanation of the incident and its repercussions, passed to the political conversation, focusing on Hezbollah, considering that the latter, which supported the formation of the government of President Hassan Diab, led Lebanon, together with rampant corruption and mismanagement, on the brink of economic collapse. The resolution indicated that the United States is concerned about Hezbollah’s use of the Beirut port “as a transit and storage point for its terrorist organization.”

It follows from the spirit of the decision that its objective is to impeach Hezbollah, regardless of the decision-making aspects related to the Lebanese people’s demands for change, and their anger that led to the resignation of the Diab government, in addition to the aid from international donors, including the United States, which pledged to pay $ 297 million. As aid to Lebanon at the hypothetical summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, in addition to his commitment to provide more than $ 15 million in humanitarian aid to the Lebanese people, the decision came back and emphasized that “the existence of a government in free Lebanon Iranian and Hezbollah interference is something that falls in the interests of national security in general. A range of the United States and its partners and allies. Therefore, the Senate affirms its support for the United States government’s efforts to provide humanitarian aid in coordination with international partners and delivery of aid through carefully selected channels, as well as organizations and individuals. The resolution called on the government of Lebanon to carry out a fair and transparent investigation into the cause of the explosion and those responsible for it, with impartial international experts as part of the investigation team, with another call on the government of Lebanon to restore faith and trust in it by prioritizing policies and programs that enhance the interests of the Lebanese people.
