Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşo رأى lu considered that the sanctions imposed by the United States on prominent figures of the Turkish Defense Industries Corporation represent an assault on the sovereign rights of his country.

During a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Sochi on Tuesday, Çavuş Ugo said Turkey will not back down from its steps to strengthen its defense industries due to the sanctions imposed by the United States.

He stressed that Turkey rejects sanctions regardless of the party that imposed them or the party that was subjected to such measures, noting that problems cannot be solved through sanctions.

He added: “Similarly, the US sanctions decision is incorrect from a legal and political point of view, and I will not address the issue of whether or not it affects our defense industries because it is an incorrect decision in itself, as which is an assault on our sovereign rights. “

Çavuşolu considered that the decision to impose the sanctions was legally incorrect because the agreement to purchase S-400 air defense systems from Turkey was signed before the issuance of the “Katsa” law.

He explained that Turkey has chosen to resolve all problems, including those related to the “S-400” issue, through dialogue, and the United States expressed its desire to cooperate through dialogue after the sanctions decision, emphasizing that your country is not against it.
