The head of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, stated that “President Michel Aoun is a large part of the current crisis and is an essential part, but he is not the whole problem and he does not have all the responsibility”, indicating that “we are not in against his resignation, but this issue is not useful at present and does not solve the problem, “he added,” if we assume that he has resigned, the ruling parliamentary majority will elect a new president like him or worse.

In an interview with MTV, he explained: “The resignation of President Aoun alone is doing nothing now. The useful thing is to go to the heart of the problem, and change the parliamentary majority through early parliamentary elections, emphasizing that “the current majority will not allow the next government to function as it should.”

He considered that “the designated prime minister, Saad Hariri, has not yet been able to form a government, because the latter wants a government of specialists, but it seems that there will be no solution. Most are thinking of different things. We want a solution, not theoretical steps. ”

Geagea noted, “Some have tried ‘heresy’ and have presented a new electoral law, knowing that the current law is new, and it is not possible with every election to change the law. Below the poverty line, are we now proposing to change the electoral law? This is a mistake”.

He remarked that “the parliamentary majority must be changed to reach a possible rescue operation.

He stated that “the crisis has occurred for some time, but it was declared since October 17, 2019, that is, a year, two and a half months ago.”

He asked: “During this period, what has the ruling group and the current ruling majority done? nothing”.

He stressed that “neither Lebanon is desperate, nor is Lebanese, but the management of the country must be changed.”

As for whether he will return to President Aoun on the occasion of Christmas and New Years, Geagea said: “I repeat it as much as” as long as the Lebanese return. ” Unfortunately, there is no contact with him.
