An informed source from the Gulf confirmed that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will participate in the work of the leaders’ summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council at its 41st session, at the invitation of the Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The source, who requested anonymity, said in a special statement to the German News Agency (DPA) that the participation of the Egyptian president is an indication that the summit “will announce the agreement of the interested parties to resolve the Gulf crisis and put an end to the causes that led to its occurrence. “

The source said the summit will be held in the presence of leaders of the six Gulf states, including the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

And the Qatari media previously reported, citing informed sources, that negotiations are currently underway between Saudi and Qatari officials, seeking to reach an agreement to end the dispute at the Riyadh summit.

In a press release last week, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani announced a breakthrough in efforts to end the Gulf crisis that has been ongoing since 2017.

He claimed that recent reconciliation discussions were only with Saudi Arabia, but the Kingdom represented the rest of the parties in the crisis.
