Important clarification from the Ministry of Health ..!

[ad_1]

The Department of Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Public Health claimed that recent days have witnessed an unprecedented rush by the Lebanese to perform PCR tests for COVID-19 before the holiday period, thinking that the negative result gives them Right to ignore the preventive measures required during this sensitive period of the year.

For this reason, the Ministry of Public Health stressed that a negative laboratory result of the covid-19 virus does not mean that a person is free of the virus, since the incubation period of the virus ranges from 2-14 days.

And he indicated that the negative laboratory result of the covid-19 virus does not allow the practice of normal life as usual during this period of staying up late, meeting, mingling, visiting restaurants and others.

He stressed that travelers arriving in Lebanon during this period should be more strict in adhering to preventive measures, especially in light of the emergence of a new strain of Covid-19 in some countries.

He called for them to adhere to the preventive measures of wearing a muzzle, social distancing, sterilization and avoiding gatherings, especially during Christmas and New Years.

And he emphasized that the lack of rationalization and extravagance in conducting PCR tests in an unscientific way has negative consequences that may be reflected in the ability of laboratories to meet the real need for tests in the next period.

He noted that any irresponsible behavior of citizens during this delicate period exposes the citizen, their environment and society in general to the risk of transmitting the COVID-19 infection, and increases the probability that the elderly and people with chronic diseases face serious complications that can lead to exhaustion of hospital capacity, especially intensive care services.
