The Qatari foreign minister affirmed that his country refuses to “impose conditions on other countries, neither on the State of Qatar nor on any other country.”
He said that the understanding should be based on common basic principles that concern all, preserve the security of the region and seek to establish a joint cooperative work for the benefit of the people of the Gulf.
For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said: “We have noticed an interest in this issue since the autumn of 2019 … We hope that the Riyadh summit on January 5 will allow the crisis and the gap to be resolved. between the Arab Gulf states “.
He continued: “All member states of the Cooperation Council are our partners and friends, and we are concerned that there will be no conflict between friends.
