The Strong Lebanon Bloc held its periodic meeting headed electronically by Representative Gebran Bassil and issued the following statement:

– The bloc condemns the crime that occurred in the town of Kahale, which caused the terrible death of Joseph Bejjani. Considers that this crime, with its circumstances and style, is closer to organized crime, which is why it calls on security and judicial agencies to expedite the necessary investigations of this crime in a way that reassures citizens who are overwhelmed out of concern about the recurrence of crimes spread in more than one region, some of which are linked to the crime of the port explosion.

– The bloc hopes that the President of the Republic and the designated Prime Minister will reach as soon as possible a common approach based on clear principles and unique criteria for the government formation process, especially at the level of the distribution of portfolios and the affirmation of the full association between them in accordance with the provisions of article 53 of the Constitution, which clearly establishes that training is carried out by agreement between the designated President and the Head of Government.

– The bloc expresses its satisfaction with what was achieved yesterday in the Chamber of Deputies in matters of suspension of banking secrecy, and this is considered a crucial step to carry out a criminal audit of the accounts of the Banque du Liban and in all departments and institutions state after all the obstacles that were invoked by some had fallen. In this context, it highlights the complementarity between the message of the President of the Republic to the Chamber of Deputies and the approval of the law to suspend work with bank secrecy and considers that the government, for its part, is called upon to fulfill its functions and make use of the maximum term granted to complete the audit, with the necessary return to work with the contract signed with Álvarez. He is a courier, and the Banque du Liban is invited to present the required documents and documents.

– Pending the transition to civil status with all its components, the bloc expresses its satisfaction that Parliament has reaffirmed Law No. 210/2000 on the exemption of taxes and fees for recognized sects and their affiliated institutions, which established the year 2000 to equate Christian sects with Islamic sects, which were exempt since before the 2000s.
The proposed law that was proposed, if passed, would restore discrimination and inequality between sects and contradict the push for marital status, which is one of our goals.

– The bloc regrets the impression that the investigation of the port crime is tinged with discretion and lack of clarity in the decisions, which made the figure cast its shadow on the breadth of the investigation, which seems to focus only on administrative responsibility in instead of focusing too, especially on criminal liability and related implication and negligence.
The bloc renews its adherence to conducting the investigation, in order to achieve its objectives regardless of what the question of legitimate suspicion leads to.
