Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron, who announced on Thursday that he had Covid-19, confirmed that he is in “good” condition, indicating that he continues to “handle current affairs” in the country, but his activity is slow, in a video clip published this Friday in social networks.

In a three-minute video and shot on a smartphone, Macron said he still suffers from the same symptoms of “fatigue, headache and dry cough,” and promised to provide a “daily progress report” of his health.

The French president urged residents to “remain vigilant.”

Macron left the presidential palace for his residence at La Lanterne in Versailles, near Paris, where he confirmed that he was “isolating himself to continue working.”

Macron added in the video clip: “I am very careful. I respect prevention and distance measures, I wear the muzzle and use the sterilizer regularly. Despite this, I was infected with the virus, perhaps for a moment of carelessness … But This is what happened”. Government officials.

Macron also warned that the virus is “getting stronger”, recalling that 18,000 new infections were recorded on Thursday.

He said: “I found out yesterday that I had an epidemic, which shows that the virus can really affect everyone, because it was so protected.

He added: “There is no reason for my disease to develop negatively, but I am subject to medical supervision and will inform you of developments in full transparency.”

He explained that the presidency contacted “all the contacts that we know” on Thursday, with whom it communicated during the previous 48 hours, and they were quarantined or subjected to examination.

“I met many political officials, including members of the government and international leaders, as well as members of the close security team, close people and relatives,” he stressed.

During the week of intense meetings, Macron Wednesday dined with dozens of personalities from the ruling majority.

On Monday, after attending the rugby World Cup draw in a building in central Paris, he met with four European officials and officials from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and on Tuesday with the heads of four political blocs. More than 70 members of the Citizen Agreement for Climate also met.

In all these meetings, social distancing and the use of masks were respected, but with moments of complacency, as happened when Macron shook the hand of the secretary general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Ángel Gurría, on Monday.
