The military court decided to issue two judgments in absentia against Shakir, whose name was associated with the group “Ahmed Al-Asir” for a time.
The Lebanese Military Court has sentenced artist Fadl Shaker to 22 years in prison with forced labor. Furthermore, the military court decided to hand down two default judgments against Shakir, whose name was associated with the group “Ahmed Al-Asir” for a time.
The first sentence was sentenced to 15 years in prison with forced labor, Shakir deprived of his civil rights after being convicted of “interfering in criminal acts of terrorism committed by terrorists, with knowledge of the matter by providing them with logistical services.”
The second ruling passed Shakir to seven years in prison, plus forced labor, deprived of his civil rights, and a fine of five million Lebanese pounds, on charges of financing the armed “group of prisoners”, spending on their members and secure the price of weapons and ammunition of war.
Two other sentences
It should be noted that the military court had issued two other judgments in absentia against Shakir, the first in February 2016, which sentenced him to five years in prison and a fine of 500 thousand pounds for attacking a sister country during an interview he conducted from the Ain al-Hilweh camp in 2014.
The court said that Shakir’s remarks during the interview led to “disrupting Lebanon’s ties with an Arab state, causing conflict and damaging the reputation of the military establishment.”
The second ruling was issued against Shaker in September 2017, in the case of “Abra Events”, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison plus forced labor.
