Reports indicated that the Iranian security forces arrested a civilian activist and member of the Association for the Defense of Labor and Street Children, Afsaneh Azimzadeh.

Afsana Azim Zadeh was reportedly arrested by security forces on the night of December 14, when she was going to Milad Hospital in Tehran to follow up on her mother’s infection with the Corona virus, and she was taken to an unknown location, according to the website “Iran International”.

An informed source was also quoted as saying that “after this civilian activist was arrested at Milad Hospital, the security forces took her to her father’s house and searched the house and some personal belongings, such as laptops. Her tablet was confiscated, then Azimzadeh was taken to an unknown detention center.

Since the arrest, there is no information on the whereabouts of Afsaneh Azimzadeh and the reason for her arrest, even if it is related to her activities in the field of child labor, street children and women, according to the same source.

It should be noted that Afsaneh Azimzadeh was arrested by security forces in early May 2009 during the celebration of International Labor Day that year, and the court issued an order for her not to prosecute, according to Al Arabiya.
