The Central Council for Internal Security held a meeting this morning to discuss the security measures that will be taken on the occasion of the holidays.
This morning, the Minister of the Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Mohamed Fahmy, chaired a meeting of the Central Council of Internal Security, which was attended by the Prosecutor, the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, the Director General of State Security , the Acting Director General of Public Security, the Governor of Beirut, the Army Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, the Deputy Director General of Security in the Army and the Director General of State Security. The Lebanese and the Director of the Office of the Minister of the Interior and Municipalities, the Chief of the Service and Operations Division of the Internal Security Forces, as well as the Acting Secretary of the Central Council for Internal Security.
The investigation was devoted to discussing the security measures to be taken on the occasion of the holidays, as Minister Fahmy asked the security services to intensify the information effort, update the plans and procedures in line with the current situation, and intensify coordination between them to avoid any security defect and strictly avoid dismissals of citizens, especially on New Year’s Eve. Because it represents a threat to your safety.
They also mentioned the high rate of some crimes, such as car theft, theft and pickpocketing, as a result of the deteriorating economic and social situation in Lebanon, and Fahmy called on the security services to intensify efforts to combat them.
