Johnny Mounir wrote in “The Republic”: There is something more dangerous, given that Israel is concerned about the ongoing transformations in the Lebanese arena, and this mix of internal hopelessness and chaos, in addition to Israel’s ambitions, is a deadly combination. Over the past few weeks or even the past few months, Israel has begun to revitalize its military and security movement in Lebanon. More than once, traces confirming the direct presence of Israeli elements in separate areas of Lebanon were discovered, the latest being discovered about two weeks ago when an advanced Israeli military ship approached the Lebanese coast. And some Israeli commandos landed in the Jiyeh area, which was chosen because it is less mobile and includes remote areas.
The commandos stayed on the beach for a time, before leaving where they came from. It is clear that this Israeli group was on a scouting mission with an objective that was not entirely clear.
Also during the last days, and one night, “Hezbollah” made a wide alert in the southern suburbs, after information and indications were received about the possibility of Israeli commandos infiltrating the Lebanese interior in a security mission.
In fact, “Hezbollah” is well aware that the intensive flight of Israeli planes over Lebanese airspace often coincides with a security mission that is being prepared on the ground.
All these signs indicate that Israel is preparing to open the Lebanese arena to projects that are not yet entirely clear, but when the time is right.
