Workers ransack iPhone factory over wage arrears in India

Employees ransacked the Narsapura plant in India, where the iPhones are made, angered by back wages.

Kolar district police officers said staff were unhappy with the delays and an investigation had been launched.

Speaking to Indianexpress, Kolar SP Karthik Reddy, one of those present during the incident, said:

“The employees demanded payment on hold for a few months and met with officials from the Human Resources Department on Saturday. After that, some employees attacked the office and damaged the buildings and office furniture.”
